What is Lead Qualification (BANT)?
Lead qualification is checking whether an enquiry is worth a salesperson's time. BANT, a common framework, scores a lead on Budget, Authority, Need and Timeline, usually through a short screening call.
Also known as: BANT, lead scoring calls, lead screening
How it works
A qualifying call asks a few natural questions: what are you looking for, what range are you working with, who else decides, and when do you want to start. The answers are mapped to the four BANT dimensions and a status, such as hot, warm or not now. Only the leads that pass go to sales.
Why voice agents suit the first pass
Speed to lead matters, and enquiries arrive at all hours. An AI agent can call within minutes, in the lead's language, ask the same questions every time and write answers into the CRM fields. Humans then spend time on conversations with intent, not on dialling.
Common mistake
Interrogating. BANT questions read like a form if asked in a row. Weave them into conversation, let the lead ask questions back, and treat budget as a range to confirm, not a number to extract in the first thirty seconds.
Where this shows up at Vaami
Vaami's outbound agent runs lead-qualification calls and writes outcomes back to connected CRMs such as Salesforce and HubSpot.
