Vaami identifies the language from the caller's first exchange. There is no "press 1 for your language" menu.
If a caller moves between languages, such as Hindi and English or Tamil and English, the agent follows and replies in the language the caller is using.
You choose the opening language for each campaign, for example Gujarati for a Surat list, and the agent adapts from there.
Outbound calls in every language go through the TRAI DND check; see TRAI and DLT compliance. Language works the same way on inbound and outbound calls.
A polished demo in one accent does not predict how a vendor handles your customers. Run these eight tests with any vendor, Vaami included, and score each one pass, partial or fail before you sign.
Ask for a trial on audio that matches your customers: phone-line recordings you already hold, or your own team speaking naturally. Vendor demo scripts are rehearsed and tell you little.
Call from a moving auto, a market, a weak 4G spot, and with a speakerphone. Indian telephony is rarely quiet, so the test should not be either.
Read out a phone number, an amount in lakh, a date, a PIN code and a flat address, then ask the agent to repeat them back. Numbers are where many voice systems quietly fail.
Start in your language, drop in English nouns, then answer the next question fully in English or Hindi. Check that the agent follows rather than insisting on its opening language.
Test with speakers from different districts, a man and a woman, and an older caller. One office accent proves nothing about a statewide customer base.
Cut in mid-answer, say "hold on", go silent for five seconds, and change your mind about the date. Good agents stop speaking quickly and recover gracefully.
Test your product names, branch names, doctor names and local place names. These words are rarely in generic training data and are the first to be misheard.
Ask for a human, say you are not interested, ask something out of scope, and state that you do not want to be called again. Verify what the agent does and what it records.
Vaami's production word error rate is under 6% across our full multilingual call corpus. That is an aggregate across all supported languages, and we do not yet publish per-language word error rates. Treat any vendor's single accuracy figure, ours included, as a starting point and verify it on your own audio. For a wider comparison of vendors, read best AI voice agents in 2026, and for a worked example of mixed-language calls, the Hinglish code-switching guide.
Yes. Press the play button on any language card on this page to hear a short sample of the agent speaking that language. Each sample is a single short passage, not a live conversation. Book a demo to hear the agent handle your own script and call flow.
Vaami supports 30+ languages. For India these are Hindi, Hinglish, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi and Malayalam. Arabic (Najdi and Hejazi dialects) is covered for Saudi Arabia, and English and Canadian French for Canada.
Yes. Vaami detects code-switching and replies in the language the caller is using, so no menu such as "press 1 for Tamil" is needed. You can also set a default language per campaign for the opening line.
No. Hinglish is Hindi-English code-switching, not a language with its own locale. Vaami follows the caller between Hindi and English; read the Hinglish page for what that involves.
Not yet. Vaami's production word error rate is under 6% across our full multilingual call corpus, which is an aggregate across all supported languages. We do not currently publish per-language figures, so we recommend testing with your own recordings using the checklist on this page.
Run a pilot on real calls from your customer base before committing. Use callers from different districts, ages and genders, noisy lines, and your own product and place names. Book a demo and we will set up that test with you.
Yes. For Saudi Arabia, Vaami supports Najdi and Hejazi Arabic alongside Modern Standard Arabic and English. For Canada, it supports Canadian English and Canadian French (Québécois) with automatic mid-call language detection.
